Year 6 pupils across the country complete their National Curriculum Tests in Reading, Mathematics and Spelling, Grammar and Punctuation in the summer term. This year the tests will take place on week beginning Monday 14th May 2018.
Understandably, pupils and parents sometime get anxious about this week of testing. Pupils will spend some time leading up to this date experiencing the different types of paper so that nothing comes as a surprise to them. If you do have concerns, worries or any questions then please speak to your class teacher rather than bottling it up inside.
Around March time, Year 6 staff will meet with parents and pupils to explain more about this week and hopefully put minds at rest.
Following the statutory tests, pupils will also complete a science test and complete some independent writing tasks therefore it is crucial that they don't have time off prior to the half term holidays.
